At the heart of the vehicle is the electric motor, operating silently with ample horsepower to propel the car at highway speeds, and plenty of torque to quickly maneuver in city traffic. With an 80,000-mile service interval, the motor requires almost no maintenance. The dual shaft of the motor can also drive an optional alternator or air conditioning compressor.
